1.3Alpha: concealed feelings and outward performance

Two different meanings of masking — clearly separated

In thedirected masked performance, a fictional character conceals one feeling behind another outward presentation. Maintained masking asks the model to keep that facade throughout; breaking masking asks for a short audible slip in sentence2and recovery. These are acting instructions, not claims that an audio classifier can detect a real person's hidden mental state.

Theemotion-cues-removed control removes the explicit concealed feeling, outward-emotion label and local emotional directions. It keeps the situation, shared acoustic/style instructions, exact spoken words, pauses, per-sentence duration budgets, seed and reference condition unchanged. This is not an openly angry/sad target, and is not evidence that the text or remaining style is emotionally neutral.

Ten situations × five languages × two instruction variants × two reference conditions =200new1.3predictions. Each requests19.2seconds: three6.2-second spoken segments and two0.3-second pauses. Actual durations are shown without editing. There are no reference-free voice aliases, quality-selected seeds or RL adapters. Use headphones and compare the same conditioning arm across instruction variants.
